YV ART MUSEUM

Administered by Contemporary Arts International (CAI)

ABOUT

Our 10-acre campus borders 90 acres of town forest and features a 7,000-square-foot studio building with three galleries, a classroom/workshop, a multidisciplinary performance hall, and extensive outdoor sculpture grounds equipped with industrial tools for large-scale work. As of 2026, we have 230 sculptures displayed outdoors.

CAI’s strength lies in its international network. Led by two first-generation immigrant artists with deep ties across Asia, Europe, and the U.S., CAI fosters global exchange that enriches both American and international artists. We are committed to serving the community for many years to come.

MISSION

As a 501c3 non-profit organization, our mission is to promote the creation, understanding, and appreciation of contemporary art in the global context. We set our focus on 3D sculpture and inter-disciplinary work through EXHIBITION,  SYMPOSIUM, ART EDUCATION, ARTIST-RESIDENCY and MUSIC programs.

CAI HISTORY

Contemporary Arts International (CAI) was incorporated in May 1999 in Massachusetts and obtained tax-exempt status in 2004. The purchase of a 10-acre former granite quarry in Acton by Yin Peet in 2003 was a bold step towards gaining a home for and realizing the future activities of CAI. The vision and persistence initiated by sculptors Yin Peet and Viktor Lois started with cleaning up the site, negotiations at numerous Town meetings and with the community, continued with the designing, engineering and constructing the museum building and facilities. The Museum is open to the public in 2010 with 120 sculptures between Yin and Viktor, distinctly symbolize a dynamic place for the development and presentation of large-scale artworks created by ambitious and uniquely talented artists. To better describe this art ground, we have named the art gound “YV ART MUSEUM”.
