NEW ART ARCHEOLOGY
The archeological stone pile embeds an ambition of Viktor Lois and Yin Peet to create a collection of 21st-century interpretation of figurative granite sculptures that eventually become an archeological site, an enduring landmarks for future generations. To realize the idea, we have hosted Stone Carving Symposium since 2011.
STONE CARVING SYMPOSIUM

Our annual Sculpture Symposium embodies the spirit of “New Art Archeology” idea aiming at creating 21st-century figurative sculptures atop the stone pile first built by Yin Peet and Viktor Lois at the beginning of CAI’s development from 2007 to 2010. Since 2011, from the first Sunday through the fourth Sunday in August, sculptors from diverse backgrounds are invited to select their stone, design, carve directly on site, and committing that each sculpture will remain here permanently. During the Symposium, our grounds become a vibrant art lab where sculptors transform raw granite into lasting works of art, fostering creative dialogue and exchange innovative ideas in contemporary stone-carving techniques. Visitors are warmly welcomed to observe the process firsthand.
Over the years, we are deeply grateful for the generous support of our audience and our funders, including the Local Mass Cultural Council (of the following Towns: Acton-Boxborough, Ayer, Billerica, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Groton, Harvard, Lexington, Littleton, Maynard, Newton, Wayland, and Westford), Jane Keller Gordon, Mark and Pat Smith, Enterprise Bank, the Acton Lions Club, and the Oasis Foundation (NYC).
