ART EDUCATION
Our workshops and classes offer a unique focus on 3D art forms, particularly stone carving, alongside a diverse range of conventional metal and wood sculpture and unconventional media including installation and performance art. Recognizing that art is a deeply individualized journey, our experienced instructors collaborate with each student to design personalized course details, including structure and class time.

Granite Carving Workshop

Dedicated to preserving the art of granite carving, in 2025 we introduced a new tutorial program for participants aged 16 and up, welcoming all levels of experience.
Fees: $850 per week-long session which includes:
• CAI’s tools (on loan to students during the session).
• One ~150 lb granite block; Snacks and beverages will be provided.
• For participants who reside outside of commuting distance, CAI is offering residency rooms at a discounted rate of $40/per day (food not included).
Under the guidance of our master carvers, attendees not only learn essential techniques, but also discover the unique skills and artistry each master bring to this timeless craft.
“Attending the Stone Carving Symposium Workshop was an incredible experience. I carved my first granite sculpture, had so much fun, I felt truly welcomed, and left YV Art Museum fulfilled and inspired.” (A Testimony by attendee Stephen Ferguson)
